Multimedia Room

What is the Multimedia Room?

The Multimedia Room is a place where youths ages 12-19 can learn about different types of media, from traditional media such as print, radio and TV to more modern forms such as podcasts, blogs and webcasts. The Multimedia Room lets youths volunteer and receive job training working with different types of media. The skills learned working with the Multimedia Room will help youths achieve success in:

  • Television
  • Radio
  • Newspaper
  • Photography
  • Theater
  • Public Speaking

The Multimedia Room is a creative and safe place for storytellers, poets, writers, filmmakers, photographers, artists, and any other type of media youths may decide to work through. The Multimedia Room is also a community resource where people can go to receive coverage of their events. From creating a small news segment to hosting a radio show youth are able to experience a wide range of media related activities.

What types of help do you offer?

The Multimedia Room offers mentorship and tutoring to students by adults with real world experience working in the media. Here students are able to learn new ways of storytelling and to expand their horizons and follow their passions' when it comes to reporting and creating media.

The Multimedia Room also helps coordinate with the Tulalip Boys & Girls Club in creating posters and flyers giving the youth real world experience creating media.

Upcoming Events

The Multimedia Room will be covering many upcoming events giving their youth a chance to strengthen their skills working with media and also help inform the local area on what's happening.

Why is the Multimedia Room important?

The Multimedia room is important because it creates a safe place where youth can channel their desire to create stories. It helps to present new ways to tell stories and help share those stories with the world. By teaching students real world skills in creating and working with media it gives them a greater chance to succeed in their future careers. The Multimedia Room helps to create storytellers for this generation and all the ones to come.
